Design & Illustration
Hi. I’m a San Francisco-based designer and artist. I specialize in strategically driven design in the forms of brand identity, design systems, typography, interactive, and art direction. I paint, draw hand-lettered typography, and talk way too much about my Boston Terrier George.
I come from a family of artists and craftspeople. My grandfather was one of the original advertising “Mad Men” in the 1950’s as well as a fine artist. Both our creative and academic pursuits were always encouraged. If I experience self-doubt, I am reminded that creatives are risk takers. We forge a path into an unknown future.
I froze my ass off in Rochester, New York in the late ‘90s working towards my BFA at Rochester Institute of Technology. After graduating in 2001 with honors with a degree in Graphic Design, I drove across the country to San Diego, California. I spent several years warming up on the beach, building my portfolio, and wading through the fallout of the economic recession. I successfully navigated my design career in the early aughts through sheer will and determination.
About ten years ago, I moved to San Francisco, became a mother, and bought a 100-year-old duplex in the city. I have a lovely home studio in the foggy Richmond district where I continue to build my freelance design and art business. I have collaborated with companies large and small to design brand identities, create marketing campaigns, style photo shoots, and design for UX and development teams. My portfolio of work in illustration, brand, print, digital, experiential, and social media design and marketing continues to grow along with my clients needs. I always have multiple creative projects in the works and enjoy taking creative classes and experimenting with new media.
